About Us

K4 Kennels British Labs is a family owned Labrador breeding business and dog boarding facility in southern MN. Our lab dogs and puppies are known for their hunting, family-friendly personality and their cuteness.

I grew up in a hunting family and developed a strong passion for the sport of waterfowl hunting and later expanded into upland and Whitetail hunting. My father, Steve, trained and bred his personal dogs throughout my upbringing.

In 2005 Steve was introduced to the British Lab world and purchased his first British Lab, Sadie, in 2006. Sadie surpassed all expectations we had and we fell in love with the size, temperament, trainability and passion for hunting that Sadie brought to the table.

Fast forward to 2017, I had been married to my wife Meghan for 7 years, moved to an acreage, and had welcomed our first son to the family. An opportunity presented itself to get a pup from Sadie’s lineage and we jumped on it. Libby entered our lives and it didn’t take us long to determine we wanted to continue her lines and to start the learning processes of what it meant to be a responsible breeder and dedication to continuing the high standards in which the British lines were built on.

The idea of continuing my dad's tradition and dog lineage was exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. Over the next 5 years not only did we add another son to the family but I also became slightly addicted to having very well bred, and well trained dogs in the family. We continued to slowly add to our line-up by networking with other individuals which brought opportunities to import a few pups directly from Ireland.

We have learned a lot and thoroughly enjoy producing high quality British lab puppies that fit perfectly into both hunting and non-hunting families. We look forward to what the future holds and the people we get to meet as well as the dogs that we will have the pleasure of having part of the K4 family!
